Vocational training on Communication and Teaching Approaches in Autism Spectrum Disorders

Scope
Scope of the project TRAIN-ASD is the training, education and familiarization of professionals on alternative systems of communication in order to support children and individuals in Autism Spectrum.
Target audience

Train-ASD targets:

  1. teachers in the field of autism who are newly appointed or unemployed;
  2. experienced teachers;
  3. teachers who are supporting children with autism or other communication difficulties in mainstream schools;
  4. other professionals, such as speech therapists, psychologists, ergotherapists, social workers.
Aims

Aim of the project is to offer the learners the opportunity to:

  1. Develop skills on systematic observation of autistic children;
  2. Train on alternative communication systems 
  3. Contribute to the of the National Curriculum;
  4. Support parents and to develop parent-teacher collaboration.
Expected results

State of the art learning practices, using a modern approach to the systematic observation and assessment of children on the autism spectrum;

An e-learning platform offering high quality training for motivation and sustainability;

E-learning materials and online technologies that will bring remote practices closer together through face-to-face training;

Validation procedures to assess the understanding and the development of competences of trainees.
